The castle of Almodóvar del Río is a stronghold of Muslim origin in the town of Almodóvar del Río, Córdoba province. Previously, he was a Roman castro and the current building has definitely Arabic origin, from the year 760. Located at the top of a hill, with an altitude of 252 metres, the total surface area of the fortress occupies some 5,628 m2.

Geralmente, quando visitamos um castelo, surpreendemos-nos com a paisagem que ele nos mostra. Tu, surpreendes-nos com esta paisagem num outro piso, mais acima!
Gosto muito de castelos. Em Portugal, na região do Ribatejo, existe um no meio do Rio Tejo, o castelo de Almourol. É muito original, ir de barco até ao castelo e, depois, avistar: rio acima e rio abaixo

The castle is constructed on a rocky peak, in the middle of plain. The view from the distance is splendid. Is one of the main fortress in the road to the city of Cordoba.
