This guy, Donavon Frankenreiter, is really interesting! Before he became a musician in the age of 18, he was a professional surfer. His musical style is still influenced of these relaxed surfing sounds. Listen to his nice song “Shine”:

Kitarō, born in 1953, is a Japanese musician, composer and record producer from Toyohashi. He is regarded as pioneer of new age music and won the Grammy and the Golden Globe Award. Listen to his absolutely amazing piece “Silk Road”:

Music from the World – Santa Maradona F.C. // Electro

On their Facebook page Santa Maradona F.C. bescribe themselfs “an experiment… an anonymous collective of globe-trotting musicians and producers dabbling with genre meddling soundscapes and collaborations. Formed truly ‘on the road’ SMFC came together via chance encounters in bars, clubs, fairs and festivals… one a guitarist in a touring rock band, one an international dj/producer another a famed percussionist and others still from the creative arts, hairdressing and… the odd engineer”. Their first single “Give Me Sunshine” is absolute worth listening. Amazing!

Music from the US – Slightly Stoopid // Reggae

Formed in 1995 by the childhood friends Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, Slightly Stoopid released 7 albums so far. They band from Ocean Beach, California crew and generated its own musical sytle: “a fusion of folk, rock, reggae and blues with hip-hop, funk, metal and punk”. Have a listen to their great song “Wiseman”:

Music from Malawi/ UK – The Very Best // Fusion

DJ and producer Johan Hugo and Esau Mwamwaya, a singer from Malawi are the collaboration The Very Best. Their music is really an awesome fusion mix of traditional african music, jazz, dance, pop and hip-hop. Listen to their great song “Hear Me”:

Moya Brennan born as Máire Philomena Ní Bhraonáin is an irish traditional musician. Born in 1952, she became a professional musician in 1970 when her family formed the band  Clannad. Listen to her nice song “I Will Find You”:

Music from Brazil – Este Silêncio

This song is really stunning awesome. It’s called “Milagre” and seems to be as soft as you could imagine hearing a ‘Milagre’ in the portuguese language. The band is called Este Silêncio and is known for post-rock and ambient music.
