Bastille is an alternative band from South London that formed in 2010.  Their debut album Bad Blood was released march 4th 2013.  The band has a great single ‘Pompeii” which is #2 on the UK charts.  Bastille supported Two Door Cinema Club on their UK tour throughout January/February 2013 and will tour through Europe in April to promote their debut album.

Josh Ritter is one of my favorite American singer-songwriters has a new album out – and a brilliant one at that!  Josh Ritter has released seven studio albums, his latest The Beast in its Tracks was released March 5th 2013.  This is one of the songs off the new album, “In Your Arms.”  Also listen to this song from a previous post “The Curse.”

Music from the US – John Grant

John Grant is an American singer-songwriter. Formerly associated with the Denver-based alternative rock band The Czars in the 1990s and early 2000s,he launched a career as a solo artist in 2010.  He has suffered homophobic abuse, parental rejection, agoraphobia, depression, drug addiction and alcoholism, and was recently diagnosed HIV positive. His music documents his attempts to overcome his trials.  His new album Pale Green Ghosts will be released March 11th.  Sinead O’Connor sings backing vocals for the album.  This is the single “Pale Green Ghosts.”

Beach House are a indie/pop band from Maryland that formed in 2004.  The duo is made up of French born Victoria Legrand and American Alex Scally.  Their self-titled debut album was released in 2006 to critical acclaim and has been followed by Devotion in 2008, Teen Dream in 2010, and Bloom in 2012. This is the music video for “Wishes” starring American actor Ray Wise, released on March 7, 2013.

Born in Pennsylvania /West Chester /US  in 1979 as Matthew Miller , he began to wear dreadlocks in the age of 14 . Miller tries to connect his jewish roots with hip hop and reggae and created a new music style. Listen to his song “Sunshine”:
