Music from Sweden – The Knife

The Knife are an electronic music duo from Stockholm that formed in 1999.   The group consists of siblings Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer, who together also run their own record company, Rabid Records.  The band has released three studio albums and will be releasing their fourth album April 8th, Shaking The Habitual.  This is their new single off the new album, “A Tooth for an Eye”.

Music from Sweden – Shout Out Louds

Shout Out Louds are an indie pop band from Stockholm, Sweden.  They have released four studio albums, their most recent being Optica which was released last month.  This is my favorite song of the band, it comes off their 2005 album Howl, Howl, Gaff, Gaff and is called “Please,Please, Please.”

Terrible Feelings formed in 2009 and play a sophisticated and gloomy mixture of power pop and punk.  They have recently released a new album Shadows.  This is their new single “Intruders”.

Music from Sweden – Horisont

Horisont are a Swedish heavy metal psychedelic rock band (I would describe them as having a Black Sabbath sound).  This is their song “Second Assault” off of their recently released second album Second Assault.

Music from Sweden – Imperial State Electric

After the breakup of The Hellacopters, Nick Anderssonformed Imperial State Electric in 2009.  Nick Andersson is the self-proclaimed emperor of rock!  They released their self-titled debut album in 2010 and have just released their new album PopWar.  This is their song “Resign”.

Music from Sweden – Roxette

I don’t think there are many out there who don’t know of this successful Swedish duo.  Their most successful hit single would be their 1989 single “The Look”.  They have released nine albums, had numerous hit singles and won tons of awards.  They are back with their new album Travelling.  This is their hit single “She’s Got Nothing On (But the Radio) ” off of the new album.

Another updated one: As you see, I’m getting more and more inspired of north-european music(Iceland, Sweden, Norway). Four days ago, I’ve presented you the song Shoreline from Broder Daniel and I got impressed. Here’s another Broder Daniel song:”No time for us” and this one probably won’t be their last song on my blog :)
