Snow Patrol are an alternative band out of Dendee, Scotland that formed in 1994.  The band has released six albums.  This is by far my favorite song of theirs, a truly beautiful song, “Chasing Cars.”  Also watch our previously posted song,”Shut Your Eyes.”

Music from Scotland – Casual Sex

Casual Sex are a new indie band out of Glascow.  They are being called ‘the new Franz Ferdinand’.  This is their debut single “Stroh 80” – “about being caught doing the nasty with your girlfriend’s pal in the aftermath of a drug party on the floor of a local occultist”, according to frontman Sam Smith.

Biffy Clyro is a Scottish rock band, they have released five studio albums.  Their fantastic latest single “Black Chandelier” is off of their upcoming album ‘Opposites’.

Calvin Harris is a singer, DJ, songwriter and record producer.  He has won awards and had hit singles, but this song I just love, can’t get it out of my head.  This is “Feel So Close” by Calvin Harris.

Music from Scotland – The View

The View are a Scottish indie rock band that formed in 2005.  The have released four albums the latest release being Cheeky for a Reason, released July 2012.  There is no doubting where the lead singer is from, he has such a heavy accent.    This is the single “The Clock” from the latest album.

Music from Scotland – There Will be Fireworks

There Will be Fireworks is a band out of Glasgow, Scotland.  They released their debut album 2009 and an EP in 2011.  This is their beautiful song “Midfield Maestro”.

Music from the UK – The Boy Who Trapped the Sun

The Boy Who Trapped the Sun is the stage name for Colin MacLeon.  He grew up in the small town of Isle of Lewis,Scotland, then moved to London to pursue his music career.  He still divides his time between the two places.  He has released a debut album “Fireplace” which delivers some truly beautiful songs, this album is captivating.  This is my favourite song “Copper Down”.

Music from the UK – Lloyd Cole & the Commotions

This band from Glasgow, Scotland had some classic hits in the 80’s.  This is their song “Lost Weekend” from the album Easy Pieces.

Music from the UK – Paolo Nutini

This 25 year old Scottish singer has an incredible voice and an amazing music style.  His father was of Italian decent, hence the name.  He has had some hits and won a “Best International Award” in 2010.  This guy deserves it – what talent!  This is his song “Coming up Easy”.  If you like this check out the previous post with his song “New Shoes”.
