Music from France – Indochine

Indochine are a French new wave/pop band that have been performing since the 1980’s.  After enjoying enormous chart success during the new wave era, Indochine spent more than decade grappling with commercial frustration, roster defections, and even the death of a founding member.  But they found success again in 1999 and have been going strong since.  They have a new album, Black City Parade.  This is their hit single “Alice and June”.

This may be the first surf-rock band to hail from France.  The band, from Paris, walks the line between avant-pop and surf-rock.  Their songs can light hearted or aggressively dark depending on their mood.  They have just released a new album Paris.   This is their song “Sur la Panche”.
