Yeah! This morning I was listening to the radio and found this song again. When I was younger I often listened this on a cassette full of italian music. So, Gianna Nannini was born in 1954 and is best known for her pop and rock music. Listen to her amazing song “Bello e impossibile”:

Music from Itlay – Vinicio Capossela

Vinicio Capossela is an Italian singer-songwriter.  He was born in Germany but moved to Italy at a very young age. Some call him the Italian Tom Waits but his music music is more of a romantic crooner, folk music sound.  Vinicio Capossela has just released a new album, Rebetiko Gymnastas.  Employing Athens’s finest players, Capossela reprises old songs such as Morna and Con Una Rosa, adding new material and Greek standards. The results are a slow-burn delight, the lyrics “full of retsina and sorrow”,  This is the song “Rebettiko Mou” off of his new album.

This young muti-talented singer song writer is extremely successful in Italy.  He has released five albums and won numerous awards, he seems to walks away with Best Artist awards in Italy every year.  His latest album is L’amore è una cosa semplice, this is his first single off the album “la differenza tra me e te”.

 

Music from Italy – Verdena

Verdena is an alternative rock band that formed in 1995.  The band has released five albums, the latest being Wow in 2011.  Most of their songs are sung in Italian except for some covers.  This is their song “Scegli Me (Un Mondo Che Tu Non Vuoi)”, which means Choose me (a world that you do not want).
