Some call him the Italian Tom Waits but his music music is more of a romantic crooner, folk music sound. Vinicio Capossela has just released a new album, Rebetiko Gymnastas. Employing Athens’s finest players, Capossela reprises old songs such as Morna and Con Una Rosa, adding new material and Greek standards. The results are a slow-burn delight, the lyrics “full of retsina and sorrow”, This is the song “Rebettiko Mou” off of his new album.
