Music from Germany – Philipp Dittberner // Singer-Songwriter

The Berliner Philipp Dittberner, born in 1990, is part of a huge number of talented upcoming German Singer-Songwriter musicians. First he was known for his remixed pieces, set up by Marv and now released his first solo album in 2015. His song “Das Ist Dein Leben” is actually one of my favourite German songs in 2015 so far:

Lasse Matthiessen is a danish singer-songwriter, born in Kopenhagen and now living in Berlin. He describes his music as moving between the coordinates of slowmotion, melancholy, and folk. Listen to his absolutely amazing song “Seven Ravens”:

Music from Germany – Migthy Oaks

The Migthy Oaks are a german folk music band from Berlin. Singer Ian Hooper who crew up in the south of Seattle, came to Germany in 2008 and met Claudio Donzelli from Italy und Craig Saunders from Englang in Hamburg. After several jobs and studies, they decided to focus on their music and formed the band in 2010. Listen to their great song “Brother”:

Felix Jaehn is a deep and techno house producer from Hamburg, Germany. He was born in 1994, started playing the violin in the age of five and producing in the age of 16. When he was 17, he moved to London to learn all about producing at the Point Blank Music College.

Nils Frahm (born 20 September 1982) is a German musician and composer. He performs as a solo artist under his own name and has worked with several musicians, such as Anne Müller, Ólafur Arnalds and F.S. Blumm, worked. He lives and works in Berlin.

Music from Germany – Abby

Abby is a indie-Pop Group from Berlin founded 2009. They play music influenced by the 70s mixed with electronic and classical influences. I´ve seen them last weekend at the Mini Rock Festival in Horb. They´ve played on the stage in the tent , it was really hot in there . The band members have been a little bit disappointed that their gig found not so much public as the gig of a hip hopper before, but okay that´s the sign of the times, that Hip Hop has more fans than their music , especially under the most younger public at this festival. Nethertheless i enjoyed their gig , all of them are really great artists on their instruments and especially the warm and powerful voice of the lead singer has to be mentioned – awesome !
