Music from Germany – Xandixx

Hehe, as you’ve seen I created my first little track. I thought Xandixx would be a nice name: strong as the Gauls, and including Xandi. And the best: the name wasn’t used often so far! Xandixx was born in 1995 and still likes sport! ;)
So I’m just a hobby producer, and want to share my sounds with you. I called it “Steps” and would be so glad if you’d share!!

Music of Cape Verde – Jorge Neto

Jorge Neto (born 1964) in São Tomé and Príncipe, to a São Tomean father and Cape Verdean mother from Ponta do Sol, on the island of Santo Antão. Jorge Neto, whose voice graces Cape Verdean pop hits such as “Rosinha” and “Sem ninguém,” marked modern Cape Verdean pop music both as the leader of Netherlands-based group Livity in the early 1990s and in his subsequent solo career. He is a constant presence at various festivals held throughout the year in Cape Verde and in Cape Verdean communities abroad. He suffered a stroke (see here) in November while on an airplane from the United States to Portugal. Here is the song “Sem Ninguém”

Music from Zimbabwe – Sam Mtukudzi †

Today, I will present you the Zimbabwean musician Sam Mtukudzi(April 1, 1988 to March 15, 2010)  who died already in the age of nearly 22. He was the son of Oliver Mtukudzi, a great Zimbabwean musician, and played the saxophone and the guitar. He died March 15, 2010 in a car crash with his sound engineer, Owen Chimhare of head injuries at the scene.

R.I.P. Sam Mtukudzi , you’ll never be forgotten, as great personality and as talented musician.
