Wir und die Anderen – Das Interview (german)

Nachdem wir bereits das Album unsichtbar begutachten durften, gibts heute noch ein Interview der 8-köpfigen Ingolstädter Acoustic Hip-Hop Band Wir und die Anderen. Sehr sympathisch.

World Music: Was war euer größter Erfolg bisher?

Was das Essen betrifft: Die hälfte der Band lebt vegetarisch, is(s)t
ansonsten aber nicht wählerisch und überaus gerne. Continue reading “Wir und die Anderen – Das Interview (german)”

Ego vs. Emo – Ego vs. Emo

I think it was about one year ago, when I wrote the first time with Tobi from Ego vs. Emo. Now, they released their first album ‘Ego vs. Emo’ on September 20 2013.

Ego vs. Emo: Ego vs. Emo

Genre: Electro, Balkan, Fusion

Ego vs. Emo is a german electro, balkan and fusion band from Göttingen. The three musicians are playing a live violin, saxophone and drums and are completed by a soundman on stage. Their music is a really interesting mix from balkan to electro through deep melodies and harmful sounds. Continue reading “Ego vs. Emo – Ego vs. Emo”

11 Questions to Konschti from Aural Pleasure

Hey! Today, we’ve something special for you: 11 questions to Konschti from Aural Pleasure, one of the greatest and most relaxed YouTube channels. He’s a young bavarian fan of chilled music and promotes artists one his channel. Have a look to his playlist:

1. Hey Konschti, why did you start the channel aural pleasure?
Actually I never really “started” this channel… I signed up on YouTube as a normal guy with an account like 6 years ago. My first upload for example was a video of a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in Munich! Then I started to upload tracks I like and which haven’t been on YT so far. This went on for like 3 years just for fun and by the time I recognized that more and more people subscribed to the channel I named it aural pleasure and it was getting a bit more professional from now on. Ron Jambo: The Exclusive Interview

You remember Ron Jambo, a great indie pop band from Munich. Yesterday, they sent me an interview, which we worked out in spring 2012 ;)

Our interview partner is Tobi, thanks so much!

World Music: How did Ron Jambo become a band?
Just left a band and was looking for people to start something new. Olli moved to Munich in fall 2009 and also needed something to start over, musically speaking. From a bank assistant he somehow got a list of people he knew were looking for a band. Olli mailed me, we both were interested, we jammed and TADA! It worked ;) After rehearsing for almost a year with a drummer I knew from my old band, we found Andy in March 2011 and started to play gigs then.

The Dentals: Tennessee

As a part of the featured band #2 The Dentals, I’d like to introduce you more and more to their music, and present you their album Tennesse, releasing May 25 2012. By the way, the interview with them

The Dentals: Tennessee

Genre: Indie, “Alco” Pop

The Dentals are a swiss band, formed in 2002, when they formed in the waiting room of a dentist. So, in their new album “Tennessee”, releasing May 25 2012, you can listen to impressive guitar solos, innovative song structures mixed with funny lyrics. Their music is a huge mix of acoustic pop, indie pop, and as they say theirselfs, “alco” pop. They are:

Fabio: the handsome (vocals, guitars)
Roman: the funny (guitars)
Dave: the intelligent (drums)
Jonas: the beard (bass)

They already had their first hit in 2006, when their song “Marry Wants To Marry Me” reached the download charts in Hong Kong for several weeks. Their new songs are also very catchy, and damn relaxed, some are even a bit calm. And really the best, they make you happy. Really! Here are again two of their songs:

Marry Wants To Marry Me:

Kings Without Crowns:

Hope you like this, and we’d be glad if you could share it!

By the way, you can by the album here on Amazon, and on iTunes

The Dentals – The Ultimate Interview

An introduction to the second featured band here on World Music, the swiss “alco” pop band The Dentals! Really a great band and an awesome interview!

First, all about them in their song “I Am An Artist”:

World Music: How did it begin?

The Dentals: Two of us – the masterminds of the band – have met in the waiting room of a local dentist. We don’t like dentists, not at all, but it felt it was the right name. Especially as in the first few years our music was quite painful too.

World Music: What was your favorite experience in the band?

Roman: Well, we don’t have groupies  so…

Fabio: YOU, don’t have groupies! Probably the favourite experience has been the recording of “Tennessee”, our first proper album.

World Music: Who inspired you to your music? What were your influences?

Roman: I grew up with bands like Pavement, Manic Street Preachers or Palace Brothers – Indie/Lo-fi/Britpop/Grunge and I still love all that stuff. Later I discovered an Australian label called “Candle Records” which used to release lots of excellent music from bands like The Lucksmiths, Anthony Atkinson or Darren Hanlon.

Fabio: I used to listen to all the American Punkrock and Emocore bands years ago. Later I got interested in Postrock and bands like Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky or The Appleseed Cast which has influenced my style of playing the guitar a lot. My more recent favourite records are a lot closer to the sound of the Dentals: Indiepop bands such as The Lucksmiths, Death Cab for Cutie, Seabear etc.

World Music: Where are you playing live the next time?

The Dentals: June 29 in Lucerne, Switzerland. Our big CD launch party.

World Music: Where can your music be bought?

Copies can be ordered or downloaded through the usual stores like Amazon, iTunes etc. But you should also be able to order the album through any good record store worldwide. It’s definitely worth to own the actual CD as the booklet is full of pretty images and it can also be used as a stylish beer coaster.

 World Music: What’s your motto?

Roman: If the glass is only half-full, fill it up!

Fabio: I am a golden god.

World Music: Why are you called “The Dentals”?

Fabio: It’s paying homage to the pretty good band The Rentals.

Roman: And it’s because we both would have liked to become Dentists. Unfortunately we’re not smart enough.

Fabio: But it’s mostly because the band was “born” in the waiting room of a dental practice.

World Music: What are your favorite foods and drinks?

The Denals: We only eat healthy stuff because we need to look slim and beautiful to distract from the fact that our music sucks. OK, maybe we also like good beer and wine…

World Music: What are your favorite singles?

Roman: Singles? I prefer albums, singles are something for DJ Bobo.

Fabio: Give Me A Second Chance, A Song Not About Beer

World Music: And the last question: What are your plans and projects for the future?

The Dentals: Saving the whales! One typical thing about the dentals has always been the fact that we don’t have a plan. And it’s very likely this is not going to change. We will play some more concerts, we want to make a karaoke DVD of our album and then it’s about time to start writing new songs again.

World Music: Thank you very much for this interview.

The Dentals: Thank you very much for this interview too.
