Rigna Folk , an art rock band from Ulm /Germany . On their Homepage they describe themselve as a band from a parallel universe and compare their music as a mixture of the music of Pink Floyd , Sigur Ros and Radiohead,

Rigna Folk ´s lyrics are in english and in russian language , quite a great  musical reunion

Music from Greece – Maria Farantouri

Maria Farantouri (sometimes spelt Maria Farandouri) (Greek: Μαρία Φαραντούρη) ,born in Athens on 28 November 1947, is a Greek singer and also a political and cultural activist. She has collaborated with prominent Greek composers such as Mikis Theodorakis, who wrote the score for Pablo Neruda’s Canto General, which Farantouri performed.

You remember Mikis Theodorakis wrote also the main title for the film Alexis Sobas

Here is her song “To Mystiko ” the second one is also a song from Theodorakis , the secret national anthem of Greece “Sto peroigiali ” ( oh i love this song <3)

What a huge surprise for this streetmusician and us! We were filming him singing the song smalltown boy by Bronski Beat, when suddenly Jimmy Somerville (the original singer) comes up and joins him singing! Awesome, things like that only happen in Berlin!

I thought there is no possibility to perform this song better as this, but looking for good cover versions i found out , you cannot make it better , but you can it make different and as good as the original , good…

On 28.08.1963 Martin Luther King hold his speech ” I have a dream” during athe March on Washington for Jobs and  freedom.

Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) was an American clergyman, activist, and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience. King has become a national icon in the history of American progressivism.

King was assasinated  and killed on April 4. 1968 , on the balcony of Lorraine Motel. The Lorraine Motel, where King was assassinated, is now the site of the National Civil Rights Museum.
