John Adam Belushi (born January 24, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, † March 5, 1982 in West Hollywood) was an American singer and film actor and the brother of the blues musician and actor James Belushi.

Together with Dan Akroyd and the band he was the main actor in the John Landis film “Blues Brothers” from 1980. many celebrities could be seen in guest appearances, including Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Cab Calloway, Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker, Chaka Khan, Carrie Fisher, Frank Oz, Twiggy, Steven Spielberg, Joe Walsh, John Candy and Charles Napier.
