Music from Morocco – Nass El Ghiwane

In the 70s, Morocco has experienced through five musicians,  trained in the school of the street and decided to break with the invasive Oriental languor, a musical explosion that was to be for young people the cry  of their desires, frustrations and their revolt.

Their repertoire is drawn from the crucible of culture and the Moroccan and Arab-Andalusian poetry, but also in religious texts from leading religious figures in Islam.

They have been called “The Rolling Stones of Africa ”
