Joseph Ira Dassin (November 5, 1938 – August 20, 1980), more commonly known as Joe Dassin, was an American singer-songwriter best known for his French songs of the 1960’s and 1970’s.

Nice. I just realized that Joe is the son of a premier film director Jules Dassin. Jules moved to france with his family during the Hollywood Blacklists of the McCarthy era. Just one of the Dark Periods in American history.
