I heard this band live when I was about 18, half of what they played was good – but the rest was dross. No question about this track though. For me the best thing about Procol Harum is they helped ROBIN TROWER shoot to fame, just listen to Britain’s greatest ever electric guitar player on “Bridge of Sighs” if you wanty to hear what I mean……FANTASTIC. Better than Hendrix IMHO!
Good shout about Trower, but he doesn’t eclipse Beck for me as Britain’s greatest guitarist. ‘Bridge of Sighs’ is masterful though.
