Eugene Berger is a professional progressive rock, fusion and funk guitarist. He also works as a studio and recording artist, as a composer, as a song arranger, as a music producer and as a guitar teacher. He was born in St. Petersburg and moved to Tel Aviv in 1992. Balkan Beat Box is a world music group that was founded 2003 by Ori Kaplan, Tamir Muskat and Tomer Yosef.
Co-founders Ori Kaplan and Tamir Muskat both met in Brooklyn, New York City, New York as teenagers.( in the german wiki they say they both grew up in Israel and first met in Brooklyn ) Both had grown up with music; Kaplan had been a klezmer clarinetist (Gogol Bordello ) , while Muskat was a drummer in a punk rock band.. They established their own unique sound by fusing the musical styles of Mediterranean and Balkan traditions with hip hop and dancehall beats.
