Music from the UK – Band of Skulls

Band of Skulls are an English alternative rock band from Southampton, consisting of Russell Marsden (guitar, vocals), Emma Richardson (bass, vocals), and Matt Hayward (drums). The group formed after meeting in college, although Russell and Matt have been friends since school. I discovered them on the Southside Festival 2012 , just entered the tent , where they had their gig , without ever heard a song from them , so i was really surprised and astonished and amazed from their sound , post 70-rock music .  Russell Marsden changed his guitar after each song , used a fender or a vintage guitar , played like Hendrix using his guitar like Hendrix , really a great gig – love them ^^ my personal highlight this year regarding Rock music ^^

Here is their song – a live version from – Light of the morning

and a studio version of “The Devil takes care of him “

  1. Cool Stan, I like them! The riff on ‘the devil’ is very similar to Montrose’s ‘Make it Last’ from their 1973 debut – a great band to be inspired by!
